Cabinet Nominations

ENCOURAGE YOUR SENATORS TO VOTE AGAINST PRESIDENT TRUMP’S UNQUALIFIED NOMINEES

Urge Senators Fetterman and McCormick (contact information to the right!) to vote against Trump’s unqualified nominees to various cabinet and other positions. Those who are not qualified include: McMahon, Rollins, Kennedy, Gabbard, and Patel. Feel free to add to the list!

Suggested message:

Every president has the right to appoint members of his cabinet who support his policies. The Senate, however, has the duty to advise and consent on these nominations, and as part of this duty must ensure that nominees are qualified for those positions.

Linda McMahon, nominee as Secretary of Education, has no relevant experience in education but was involved in running Donald Trump’s election campaign. She is likely to support policies that will damage or destroy public education.

Brooke Rollins, nominee as Secretary of Agriculture, also was involved in Donald Trump’s election efforts and similarly has no real experience in agriculture. She served in the first Trump administration in policy roles.

Robert Kennedy, Jr., nominee as Secretary of Health and Human Services, doesn’t believe vaccines are effective despite volumes of proof to the contrary, and has promoted conspiracy theories about COVID-19 and AIDS. He cannot lead a federal Department that is charged with protecting our health.

Tulsi Gabbard, nominee as Director of National Intelligence, has had questionable dealings with Putin and Assad that mean she cannot be trusted with our national security

Kash Patel, nominee as Director of the FBI, plans to use the FBI to punish Trump’s political enemies, making him unfit to lead this organization.

As my Senator, I expect you to vote against approval for these nominees.

Update: Pete Hegseth’s nomination, which we opposed here, was approved 50-50-1 (Vance’s tiebreaking vote was required).

Fetterman voted No; McCormick voted Yes.
